Chicken Sigdi Masala By Anurag


  1. 500 Grams Chicken 
  2. 3 Medium Size Potatoes
  3. 3 Tomatoes
  4. 3 Medium Size Onions
  5. 1 Ginger 
  6. 4 Garlic Pods
  7. 3 Green Chillies
  8. 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  9. 1 Tablespoon Chilli Powder
  10. ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  11. 3 Tablespoon oil.


  1. Coarsely mash ginger, garlic, and green chillies in a mortar  with pestle and keep aside. 
  2. In the same mortar coarsely mash onions and keep aside. 
  3. Light fire in a sigri and add half tablespoon of sugar, ginger garlic and green chilli paste.
  4. Add onion paste and fry until golden brown. 
  5. Add red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, tomatoes and cook for 20 minutes. 
  6. Add chicken pieces and mix well. 
  7. Add medium size potatoes and mix well. 
  8. Cook for 30 minutes and serve with roti or rice!

Cooking Tip:
Making chicken sigri masala needs ample amount of time, patience and slow-cooking. This is done to ensure full flavours are extracted from the spices. So let the chicken sigri masala take its own time!
