What do you do when you hit rock bottom? Well, Alice Maniyar knew that there was only one way to go– it was to get up and get moving. Her weight loss story is an inspiration that no matter where you are or what you are doing, anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
A consultant by profession, Alice was really frustrated with her unhealthy lifestyle and her growing weight. When she finally decided to change everything holding her back, there was no stopping her.
Here is what she has to say about her weight loss journey!
“One morning I woke up, looked in the mirror, and cried for a while and then told myself to pull it together, I didn’t recognize my own reflection, I had gained so much of weight which i never thought of and then came The turning point: I approached a doctor to support me in my journey of weight loss
Our journey started with making me understand what is this weigh loss program all about. She explained me what all should i change in my lifestyle, right from monitoring my daily routine, to giving me guidance on what all I should eat, my exercise routine she use to take an update on each and every aspect in details on a regular basis. I started working out more, eating healthy, being positive and became more confident. I never could even walk a mile and now have been doing marathons which is the most beautiful part of my journey. I lost 14 kgs of weight with amazing inch loss and it feels that “Nothing can beats the joy that comes after working hard and achieving your goal.” In this entire journey I was a pure vegetarian all my life and she wanted me to start taking protein in a proportion to balance my diet. But being vegetarian it was getting difficulty. She said if I can eat egg… I had so much reluctance initially but then I wanted to become healthy and started eating eggs. So from being a vegetarian to eggetarian the journey wasn’t easy as I has challenged on how to make, smell different utensil at home and all above the taste which took months to develop. And now atleast 3-4 days in a week my dinner are egg..
That my story over 2 years and have changed the way I used to eat and have been maintaining a good balance of my clean eating. “Sunday ho yaa Monday, Roj Khao Ande”.
Lessons learned: Have a healthy balanced diet and include chicken, eggs, and veggies in your diet. Eggs contain vitamins A, D, E, and K, a high-quality protein food that helps in building muscles and allowing people to feel full for a longer period of time.
If you set your mind onto something, it is important that you do not stop, no matter what comes your way. There will be several challenges in your weight loss journey but you have to keep fighting them. In the end, the happiness you will get after looking in the mirror will be much bigger than any hurdle.
